On April 20, 2023, SwimweekTO presented The Shows as a live fashion environment built around swimwear, runway movement and the immediacy of seeing a collection in the room. The presentation belongs to an early chapter of Tryste Media’s fashion-event history—one where production, talent and image-making were already being treated as parts of the same editorial experience.

The runway as a live image
Swimwear changes when it moves. Fabric, proportion and styling read differently under show lighting and at walking pace than they do in a static campaign frame. The Shows leaned into that difference, using the runway as a place where silhouette and attitude could register in real time.
The visual language was unapologetically theatrical. Sculptural white wings turned a swim look into a runway character; warm light and a close audience created a sense of intimacy; saturated colour brought contrast to the darker show environment. The result was fashion designed to be experienced first and photographed at the same moment.

Showmaking beyond the clothes
A fashion show is built from more than garments. Casting, pacing, lighting, music, backstage timing, guest flow and media capture all affect how a collection is understood. SwimweekTO brought those elements together in a format that prioritized both the room and the resulting image.
That production philosophy became part of Tryste Media’s broader approach to fashion events: create a strong live moment, give talent and designers a clear visual frame, and make sure the experience continues through photography and media after the final walk.
The strongest runway moments are immediate: the model, the look, the light and the audience all arrive at the same point in time.
An early chapter in Toronto swim fashion
The Shows remains part of the SwimweekTO archive and an early marker in the evolution of Tryste Media’s fashion production work. Its combination of swimwear, theatrical styling and close-range runway photography reflects a recurring idea across the company’s later productions: fashion is most memorable when production and image move together.
